this is a reallyyy belated continuation of the birthday post because so many things have happened since then as i got swept away into the whirlwind of school work but, just a short post to commemorate! after the 'birthday dinner' over skype on the 5th, B presented me with my 21st birthday video!!! :D (view video here). it had all the well-wishes and personal messages from all the people i love (except for my 2 juniors haha but nvm) and ahh it was just super touching. being away from everyone (from friends in general) for the past close to 2 months haven't been easy. but seeing everybody chip in for the video made me feel very, very fortunate (:

TODAY IS THE DAY. signed up for a full day of ML intensive workshops for top international choreographers like Quick Crew, Ian Eastwood, Jillian Meyers, Keone Madrid, Sh**tkingz!! it's gonna be super insane. i'm terrified of the lineup but damn excited to push my boundaries as well (: this is an experience that i'm never gonna get in Singapore.

my body is super dead from dancing the whole day with gastric but omg. my mind is still suffering from the aftershock of how AWESOME THE DANCERS WERE :D soo glad that i signed up for this and pushed myself out of my comfort zone. among other things, i actually tried contemp for the first time today. and though i struggled with a lot of the choreos, it gave me a good sense of where i stood and how much more i have to learn. also, very inspiring to know that all the amazing choreographers that we look up to are actually very down-to-earth and friendly people. nassir from quick crew was super friendly, everyone from sh**tkingz kept smiling and cheering us on, keone talked to me (!) and jillian meyers was bouncing across the room as if showering us with rainbows & hearts haha.
i loved that i could be spending my 21st infected with all the positive energy in the room that day. even though i was super brain dead from choreo overload but the cheers and smiles from everybody just kept me pushing on. i want to bring this energy back to MJ! it's a dream, but i'd love for it to happen one day.
