valiante's food diary #1: teriyaki chicken pasta with red peppers and carrots

so in view of the fact that i'll be pretty much lolling around at home for the next couple of days and just basically enjoying my free time before i jet off to Japan, i've decided that i should start experimenting with useful life skills - i.e. cooking & baking. so for the week or so i'll try and come up with a food diary of all the new recipes that i'll be playing around with (one per day hopefully!) kinda excited to try the dessert and baking ones.

but today, i decided to go with the traditional pasta, just coz i'm confident of it. in fact, it's pretty much the only dish i can whip up at a moment's notice right now (well, apart from fried eggs and instant noodles).

started off by boiling water in a large pot

then got all my ingredients chopped up and ready

putting in the pasta once the water starts boiling

time to fry the chicken! got the teriyaki ones because i was lazy to marinate them but usually i would marinate with soya sauce, oyster sauce and salt. just let it sit for at least half an hour and you're good to go.

added the carrots and the bell peppers into the hot water so they would get soft and the flavour would come out easier

drowned the cooked pasta in cold water to turn it into al dente

ta-da! this was the final product. in between the cooked pasta and the end product i just dumped the pasta into the frying pan with the chicken, pasta sauce and tomatoes, then stirred it around a while to let the spaghetti soak in the flavours. super easyyy to do (:
